Reviews:

Reviews:
When I finished my animation I needed to get some reviews for my third and final assignment. So I put in on Youtube and it ended up with 34 views.
I also asked people in my class, friends and family members to review my animation to see what they thought. This is what I got:

Overall I am happy with the reviews that I was given by friends and family. The comments that I am happy with as it is my first ever animation that I have done. As you can see I didn't get any bad comments or comments on what I can improve my animation on. I was given comments like:
"This is amazing"
"Nice use of sound. Love the way the dog hid. love it"
"Well done! It's very quirky"
"I love it. It was really good"
However I was given the scores of 5,4,3 and a 2. I am happy with these numbers. I was given the 2 for my sound. To improve on my sound I would fade in and out each piece of music that I have used. I would do this by using adobe audition which specialises in editing audio and I know how to do it. Or I could have put a small gap in between the tracks when they change just the symbolise when the track is changing. As for my storyline that was a strong point in my reviews as I was give 5s, 4s and a 2. I felt that it was the good part in my animation as it was showed very well. My editing reviews where 3s, 4s and 5s. Overall I think my editing went well but it would have been better if I changed the effects on the picture.

For example:
In between these two moments I have dramatic piano music. I could have changed the colour of the film to black and white to make it stand out more.
Overall I am happy with the animation that I have made as it is the first time I have ever made an animation as I have never really understood how they make animations until this year. I enjoyed making my animation and I felt it was a successful animation. I am happy that I was able to add different camera, instead of it being one angle. I was able to add in a close up:

This is also helped me over my problem because it took me two lessons to animate. So instead of spending time trying to line the characters up with the last photo that I had taken.

Although I felt I was rushed at the end of making the animation so I was able to hand my assignment in on time. Also if I were to do this again I would manage my timing better and make my model more tidier than they are on this animation.

How I added audio to my video:

Firstly, I put my animation into Premiere Pro. Then, I added a title and credits onto the beginning and end of my animation. To show the name of the animation and who made the animation. Also the credits give credit to the people that have helped me.

Then, I added audio into my video. I added 3 pieces of music. I put a happy tune at the beginning, this is to make the atmosphere cheerful. Then, when the dog runs away I put on a dramatic tune to show that something has gone wrong. Finally, when he finds his dog then he finds his dog I put on a happy tune to show that everything is happy.

Finally, I exported the animation.

This is my final video with audio:

My video animation without audio:

This is the video that I have made without audio. I made this in I StopMotion 3.
Key stages of my animation:
This is the first screenshot I have taken and it is where Bob and Dylan are just about to walk onto the screen.

This is second key moment. This is screenshot 52. This screenshot shows Bob and Dylan in the middle of there walk.

This is third key moment. This is about 10 seconds into the animation, in this screenshot it shows Dylan wondering away from Bob and hides behind a bush.

This is the forth key moment. This is about 13 seconds in. This scene shows Bob trying to find Dylan but he can't find him.

This is the fifth key moment. This is about 18 seconds in. This is a close up on Bob's face and he is shouting for Dylan.

This is the sixth and final key moment. This is about 20 seconds. This is where Dylan came's back to Bob and jumps up at him.

Development of characters and background:

Background:

This is the stuff that I need to make my background:

To make my background, I cut a box in half to make the box look like what it does on the image that is next to this text. Then, I chopped the edge of the box off to make it look a bit more smarter. Went on my laptop and printed off a photo of trees to put around the sides of the box so I printed off 5 copies of the image, but it turns out I only needed 3 and a half. Also I printed of an image of grass and only printed off 2 copies of that. I glued these to the box and this is my background (the picture below):

Characters:
In my animation, needed two characters, a dog (Dylan) and a man (Bob). Also I needed two bushes for Dylan to hide behind.
This is how I did it:

This is what I needed to make my characters, Pipe cleaners and plaster scene. I made the pipe cleaners into a man and dog shape so I was able to use the outlines to make my person and dog. Also, the pipe cleaners will allow me to move the person and dog. Then, I put the plaster scene over the Pipe cleaners making them look like a human and dog. I also added a tail onto the human to help him be balanced. This is what the characters looked like when they were finished (the image below):

Then, I flattered out a blob of  green and shaped it into a blush shape. Then, I made sure that Dylan could hide behind it.
This is what it looks like:
This is what my people looks like with the background:

New storyboard and resources needed:

Storyboard:
This is the storyboard the shows the plan of my animation in image form.

In the first box it shows, Bob taking Dylan for a walk through a park. There will be trees in the background and grass on the floor to show that he is walking him through a park.
In the second box it shows, Dylan running off when Bob isn't watching. The arrow shows the path that Dylan will be taking. Bob also starts to look for his dog and starts to get worried.
In the third box it shows, Bob grows more and more worried for Dylan's safety and starts to call out his name. Meanwhile, Dylan is hidden behind a bush. The arrow shows the path that he takes to gets from one bush to another.
In the final box it shows, Dylan running to his owner and jumping up on him. Bob is happy because Dylan is back safe and sound.

Resources that I will need:

  • Half a box
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Plaster scene
  • 2 photos (Trees and grass)
  • Hue Camera

My new idea:

As I started to make my original animation idea, I found it hard to do so I decide to change my idea into a simpler and short idea. My new idea is a man called Bob taking his dog, Dylan, for a walk but the dog is off its leader so it runs away. Bob starts to look for him. Meanwhile, Dylan is hidden behind the bushes and is hiding from his owner. Bob starts to get worried about what's happened to Dylan and starts to shout his name. Suddenly out of the blue Dylan appears and barks at his owner.

Storyboard and Resources:

Storyboard:
This is my storyboard:
My storyboard shows what is going to happen in my animation in photo form.
In the first box it shows Fred the prankster throwing a cream pie at the random people.
In the second box, it shows when Fred meets Lucy the other prankster in town. They argue and argue until they decide to have a competition to agree on who is the best prankster in town.
The third and four box shows Fred and Lily pranking people.
The fifth they meet again but find that they are just as good as each other at pranking and start arguing.
In the sixth and final box they find that they are falling in love and end the animation hold hands and walking off the screen.

Resources:
  1. Some plaster scene
  2. Paper (for background)
  3. pencil and colouring pencils
  4. Cardboard box
  5. Hue camera

Final idea

I decide to go with my third, coming up with my own animation that is made out of lego. The animation with be able a prankster that pranks people for fun in the village that he lives in but he soon meets his match who is a female version of him. They start to have a pranking war to see who's the best. They find that they can't out prank each other and find themselves falling in love.
Sounds:
I will then us silent movie music in the background.

My 3 ideas:

My 3 ideas of my animation:
For my first animation I might do is a scene out of a scene in a movie but in plaster scene or lego. But I'm not sure what scene or movie to do it from. Like someone did for harry potter:

Also for the hobbit:

For my second idea, I might do a music video to a part of the song. I might an animation based off the song Space Oddity by David Bowie.

It will be about a spaceman that has just landed on the moon but he is lonely and misses earth. The animation will so show the sadness that the spaceman feels that he's all alone.

For my third idea, I could completely make up my own animation with my own characters and do a little scene with them in. The animation will be made out of plaster-scene. With a drawn background.
A bit like the videos I have been watching:

Research

Research:
I didn't really know what I was going to do for my animation, all I knew was take that I wanted to do a model animation. But I didn't know what materials to use. So I decided to look on youtube and look at the animations online to give me some ideas. I found out this you can make animations for movie sense and music video. But firstly, I search up the ten ten best animated music videos.

I decided to look at famous TV show that were made by clay.
Wallace and Gromit:
